My name is Karen Friday Randall, and I have a personal goal of climbing a mountain. I've never done anything extraordinary in my life. It's not like I'm famous or well known. The only mountain I've ever really scaled is the mountain of laundry in my house where I live with my family. (I have four teenagers. They create something I like to call Mount Washmore.)
I always knew I wanted to do something big; I just didn't know what I wanted that big thing to be. I'm a bit of a dreamer and a free spirit....and I've been through a few things in my life. But when I turned 50, I started to wonder how I fit into the grand scheme of things.
I set out to find out who I really am on the inside, and I wanted to discover what I am actually capable of. So, I started walking.
What I'm finding out, every single day, is that this journey is way bigger than getting to the top of a mountain. It is about overcoming the many mountains ahead before I even start the climb.
